As the date for the rescheduled Governorship and State Assembly Elections draw closer, the chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd says the people of the area have resolved to take advantage of the election to repay Governor Nyesom Wike’s loving kindness by voting massively for the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Siminalayi Fubara and the Emohua State Assembly candidate Chief Justina Emeji to consolidate on the achievements of the Governor in Rivers State.
He maintained that the people of Emohua local government area could not thank the Rivers State Governor enough for his loving kindness through project execution and political recognition in the area.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Akpabu – Egbeda road linking Elele – Omoku road in Emohua LGA constructed by the Rivers State Government on Friday, the Emohua council Boss said the people of the area cannot pay good with evil hence they have resolved to appreciate the Governor with their permanent voters’ cards in the March 18th Governorship and State Assembly Elections.
“Your Excellency you were here on the 5th of January to flag off the construction of this road and in less than three months we are here again to commission this road.
‘As the chairman of the local government area, I do not know how to thank you, my people do not know how to thank you, we can not thank you enough.
“For the past fifty years, I have been on earth electoral materials never arrived in Akpabu and Egbeda communities anything less than 11:00 am to 12:noon but in the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections held on the 25th February our materials arrived at 8:00 am because of the wonder you have done by constructing this road.
“Your Excellency we are very wary of the provisions of Proverbs 17:13: “Whoever returns evil for good, evil will not depart from such home.” My people and I fear that provision of the book of Proverbs and that informs what we are going to do for you because you’ve done everything for us. As a grateful people your Excellency we will pay you back resoundingly on the 18th.
Dr Chidi Lloyd also thanked Governor Nyesom Wike for the reconstruction and remodelling of the Government Secondary School Emohua demolished by the immediate past administration in the State.
“Today I have an alma mater that is equal to a polytechnic, this was what the previous administration demolished. You said you were going to rebuild it and you are doing it for everybody to see.
“G S.S Emohua where notable penalties from Emohua local government area including the chief of staff government house, the provost Rivers State University Medical School and myself schooled. Your Excellency, we pleaded with you to rebuild the school and you approved.
“We thank whoever demolished that school because the infrastructure we see there today can go for a polytechnic, even if the thank is in inverted commas.”
The Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who performed the inauguration of the road commended the people of Emohua local government area for standing firm to deliver a Southern President in the February 25 Presidential Election, expressing optimism that the people of the area would do better in the Governorship and State Assembly elections slated for 18th March.
The governor who disclosed that the contractor handling the Egbeda Internal Roads had been mobilized to move to site on Monday, urged the people of the area to vote massively for the governorship candidate of the PDP, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and the Emohua state constituency candidate, Chief Justina Emeji in the March 18 election, stressing that the completion of the Egbeda internal roads project is tied to the victory of the PDP in the State election.
The chairman of government recognized traditional rulers in Emohua LGA, HRM Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse who performed the presentation of cola nuts at the event said the people of the area will continue to stand by Governor Nyesom Wike in appreciation of his magnanimity to the people.
The traditional ruler prayed for God’s continuous protection and promotion upon the Rivers State Governor while wishing him greater heights in his political career.
The commissioned Akpabu – Egbeda road is a newly constructed road conceived and completed within three months by the administration of Governor Nyesom.
The road linking Akpabu and Egbeda communities in Emohua LGA also serves as a shortcut from the Elele-Omoku road to the East-West road through Akpabu community.
